The internationally highly respected Austrian economist Gabriel Felbermayr is this year’s Houska-Talk guest at the 2023 Houska Prize award ceremony. Gabriel Felbermayr is Director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) and Professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

His research and consulting work focuses on issues of international trade theory and policy, labour market research, European economic integration, and current economic policy issues. Gabriel Felbermayr holds various roles and positions in some advisory boards and his research has been recognised with several awards.

At this year’s Houska Prize award ceremony this exceptional economist will be giving a talk entitled “Relevant in the World – Relevant for Europe?” about globalization and China´s role, the trends that will shape the energy market, and the impact on Europe as a business location, among other topics.
